Alice Liou

"I've always enjoyed capturing beautiful images by painting and photography.  Painting has become my meditation that brings peace, healing, and contentment to my life.  ​I hope to help the viewers connect with the spirit of these paintings - life energy in the beauty of nature. 

 

In addition to watercolors, I also enjoy working with pastel and Chinese ink (sumi ink) for their unique effects and textures.  My latest adventure is painting with alcohol ink for its dynamic movement and interesting color blending effects.

 

Chinese calligraphy always brings back sweet memory of my childhood when calligraphy was a significant aspect in my family and heritage. I very much enjoy demonstrating and teaching this beautiful ancient art. 

 

Now as a member of the Olympia Art League and the Puget Sound Sumi Artists, I will continue to support our art communities, learn from many great artists, and contribute as I can.  It's a life-long spiritual journey, and I welcome new friends to join me in this journey!"
